Description

When I made Tubularia perla brooch I was thinking about strange sea animals with light transparent colours. To create something like these species was challenging. I like challenges. They push me on. Every new work is a challenge for me. I treat every piece individually. The more complicated the work is, the greater the challenge. A challenge for me is always the theme which I process in my collections and single pieces. In the collection Worms: Into the Unknown from 2012, I was focusing on essentials and not on external conditions. We reach blurred lines between natural and artificial by our relationships.
Worms: Into the Unknown collection is about about how I see the hidden natural world. It is not how the species really are, it is how the could be. They represent the freedom of my imagination.

By focusing on the essentials and not to external conditions, we reach the blurred lines between the natural and artificial. These relationships are compositions of freedom.
Out there are hundreds of species of unknown nature, strange like “aliens”. This is my Vision about these natures. How I see these species, how they look like in my imagination. In the context is the material and the story, my searching in the past, for unknown and forgotten forms. Have you ever seen some Sea Slugs or Flatworms? Their bright colours fascinate me! For me, they are a great source of inspiration. It is all about how I see them, not about how they really are… They represent the freedom of my imagination.
They are mild forms, imprints, skeletons of marine organisms, melted sand grains together, or the unknown nature which we cannot see. This jewellery shows how I see the real, or even the unreal. There are not real found shells, or coral skeletons, there are three-dimensional pictures of it…

  • Carma Colana collier is from the Microvita collection. Created of a broken bone china tea cup, driftwood, pearls and brass. Green Electron brooch 2022 ~ soft and amorphous meets hard and edged. Big amber drop meets green mangrove wood and anodized titanium. This is the "Ligno Plectere" brooch from the collection Into the Unknown. It was exhibited in several places like Joya Barcelona, International Art Exhibition Beijing, Creativity Oggetti Torino, Stoss Im Himmel and Dorotheum Vienna, until it has found its owner. It represents the Freedom of Imagination. Brooch d'Amber made for the collection Into the Unknown. My first experiments with this kind of driftwood. I was impressed with the lightweight and fragility of this material. Amber is always present in my work. Inspired by sea creatures, this work could be an "Ascidiacea" turned into jewel. Silver brooches with topas and aquamarine. From the Deconstructive collection. Silvanus brooch named after a Roman deity of woods meaning "of the woods".
